Project Details
Overview & Objectives
This project involved maintaining and modernizing a large, content-heavy website for a steel manufacturing company specializing in pre-engineered aviation hangar systems. The site served a national audience and functioned as both a marketing platform and a technical reference hub for prospective buyers.
The primary objective was to ensure the website remained usable, accessible, and conversion-focused across devices while supporting a deep information architecture, legacy content, and business-critical workflows such as quote requests and product exploration.
Role & Responsibilities
I worked on front-end implementation and ongoing site enhancements with an emphasis on usability, responsiveness, and business functionality.
Responsibilities included:
Adapting a large, legacy site for responsive desktop, tablet, and mobile use
Supporting complex navigation and deep content hierarchies
Maintaining clarity across technical and compliance-driven content
Optimizing quote request and lead-generation pathways
Ensuring consistent branding across multiple device breakpoints
Balancing modern UX expectations with established enterprise workflows
Project Outcome & Learnings
The resulting site provided a stable, reliable user experience for a highly technical audience, allowing users to explore building types, certifications, and system advantages without friction. Responsive layouts ensured that sales tools and contact actions remained accessible in the field, at trade shows, and on mobile devices.
This project strengthened my experience working with long-standing enterprise platforms, where success is measured not by visual trends but by clarity, accuracy, and operational reliability. It also reinforced the importance of incremental modernization when supporting mission-critical business websites.
