Project Details
Overview & Objectives
Lakeshore Animal Hospital needed a website redesign that better reflected the practice’s values while supporting the daily needs of both pet owners and livestock clients. The existing site required updates to improve usability, accessibility, and content organization, as well as ongoing maintenance to keep information accurate and reliable.
The goal of this project was to create a clear, welcoming digital presence that made it easy for clients to understand services, know what to expect, and contact the clinic when they needed care. The redesign focused on clean navigation, readable content, responsive layouts, and an approachable visual tone that aligned with the hospital’s hands-on, community-focused practice.
In addition to the initial redesign, the site continues to be maintained and updated to support operational needs, accessibility improvements, and long-term stability.
Role & Responsibilities
I worked as the full-stack designer and developer for this project, handling the redesign from concept through implementation and ongoing support. My work spanned user experience design, front-end development, content structure, and site maintenance.
Responsibilities included:
• Designing page layouts and UI patterns focused on clarity and ease of use
• Developing responsive front-end components for desktop and mobile users
• Structuring content to support both companion animal and livestock services
• Implementing accessibility improvements to improve readability and usability
• Maintaining and updating the website to reflect current services and clinic operations
• Supporting ongoing improvements as the practice’s needs evolved
Project Outcome & Learnings
The redesigned Lakeshore Animal Hospital website provides a dependable, user-friendly experience that supports both new and returning clients. Clear service information, improved navigation, and responsive layouts help visitors quickly find what they need, whether they are scheduling routine care or preparing for a visit.
This project reinforced the importance of aligning design decisions with real-world business operations. Working closely with a small private practice highlighted the value of clear communication, flexible updates, and ongoing maintenance rather than one-time delivery.
The experience strengthened my ability to design and maintain websites that balance usability, accessibility, and long-term support — particularly for organizations where the website plays a direct role in day-to-day customer interactions.
